Want to Build Total Body Strength? Try these bulletproof exercises.

There're ain't no doubt about it, strength training adds life to your years and years to your life.

So what kind of exercises will maximise your value for time and help you to build overall strength, to make you bulletproof for life?

Here's some super simple techniques that you can implement into your programs right now....

1. Perform weighted carries such as Farmer Walks, Suitcase Carries, Overhead & Zercher Carries.

Firstly, a really good strategy that we use for our clients in Warrior Fit TRIBE training and

Warrior Fit 1-2-1 coaching, is adding in simple weighted carries such as farmer walks, suitcase carries, gradually increasing the difficulty to clean carries,

overhead and Zercher style carries with barbells and kettlebells. These exercises not only boost your overall strength, but also increase the strength and integration of your core with all your other muscles in your body at the same time.

For the best set up during weighted carries, designate a specific straight line distance (such as the length of the gym) and sweat your way down and up the distance, performing laps at a time in between other exercises. Think quality movement, be mindful about every single stride you take, tighten your whole body and walk with purpose.

To achieve the best results here we program weighted carries several times per week for our clients to boost overall strength.

2. Nail your technique on your primal movements, then load up heavy enough to feel the rep range.

There' something to be said about the clients that commit themselves fully, to having awesome form for all their primal movements. These are natural human movements that involve big muscle groups and specific movement patterns; that being a Squat, Deadlift, a single legged exercise variation (such as the classic Lunge) Push Up/Press, Pull Up/Row based exercise, plus of course rotation movement such as a Body Saw. Once you nail your technique, you're far more likely to be able to progress faster through the amount of weights you are lifting, plus reduce chances of injury. Therefore your longevity for resistance training increases, helping you to be strong for life.

If you are having issues with your technique, one of the best strategies i have learned over the years is to ditch your running shoes during your weight training, so you can feel what is happening at your feet. Remember your feet will send all the neurological messages RE: movement to your brain and back down. If your feet are placed incorrectly it's likely that you will struggle with form.

Also, important to consider is making sure you feel the challenge for every set, and rep range variant that you have programmed into your strength training protocol. For best strength development (and to keep your focus in check), not only do you diligently commit to nailing awesome form, to get super strong, make sure you lift weights that are heavy enough for you to be able only just push through, the designed rep range. This creates enough stimulus, for your body to adapt to and therefore you bulletproof your strength rather than suffering through plateau.

3. Relentlessly create your strongest and most powerful posterior chain.

Without a doubt, the strongest athletes in the world, possess their strongest and most powerful muscles in their posterior chain. The posterior chain is a set of muscles that spans from the back of your head all the way down the back of your body and it supports your best posture, plus your athletic capacity for speed, power and strength. Once you strengthen your posterior chain from your most

deepest layers, this will help to form a substantial foundation from which you can boost your athletic power, whilst minimising injury risk especially in your back.

Our clients who perform Deadlifts, KettleBell Swings, Hip Thrusts, Pull ups, Renegade Rows, Sled Runs, Sled Drags, achieve the best results here.

Remember fellow Warriors, the objective is to improve overall strength to back up all your other training and lifestyle activities so you can smash through LIFE being the strongest version of you. For the best results, make sure you commit to these strategies regularly, train hard, train smart and smile sweetly because you're totally kicking ass at life with your new life time strength.
