There are no magic pills for a true DETOX

In order to grow, often that means we need to ‘dust off‘ old stale habits to bring the true power and vitality of new amazing ways of being.

This ‘dusting off‘ procedure could be referred to as detox. When we dissect the word DETOX we can better understand - de= taking away and tox = toxins. So in a detox we are taking away toxins.





Although, important to note that the detox terminology has sadly lost its’ credibility, to a large extent, as we’ve once again fallen into the trap of focussing on taking the easy magic pill approach, rather than committing to the much needed work, the hard hustle AKA the inside work.


When analysing the constructs of the best possible detox that can be performed, it is the inside shifts that you make happen is what a really effective detox is actually all about. In essence, to perform a true detox, that a really does count towards making a lifespan of positive change, we always need to firstly assess what’s not serving us and what might be keeping us in negative thought and behaviour patterns then attacking our positive changes from this perspective.

You can have the most glamorous dress in your wardrobe, but you’re never going to truly look and feel like million dollars in a million dollar dress that’s been festering in the back of your wardrobe for months, no matter what accessories you add to it


Note; that I refer detox as getting rid of old stuff first. Getting rid of the the baggage that’s holding us back, as opposed to bringing in fancy extras at this stage such as detox supplements juices/powders etc .

It is crucial to have a well rounded view of what our lifestyle toxins actually are, so that we can achieve long term effects from our efforts.

Consider that when analysing the toxins in our lives, this term not only refers to as foods but also all other aspects of our wellness, such as


✂️Our social circles, friends, family neighbours, work colleagues. Is our tribe supporting our goals ? Are they positively influencing our life so we continue to learn and develop?


✂️The environment we work in- do we have an environment that fosters maximum productivity making you feel alive and well ?

✂️Are we using digital devices to power up our life or are our digital devices taking a complete hold over us?


✂️Who and what we listen to, what we read and therefore perceive has the power to influence amazing positive or negative reactions in our body,


✂️What products we use to clean our homes,


✂️What products we use on our skin can be toxic,


✂️How we manage our time and our minds to that have influence our decisions can be toxic.


✂️Our thought patterns and current daily habits - which are serving your goals and which are not?


✂️Our sleep wake cycle has a huge effect on what we eat how we feel about ourselves, in turn how we act. Are we creating optimum sleeping environment to reduce our own toxic behaviours ?


When assessing toxins to eliminate within our lives, alcohol food and coffee can be on the top ten of many clients vices. Although, important to dig deep and break these vices down further. This often leads us to be able to identify the toxic behavioural patterns associated with the vice. For example, are you depending on alcohol as it's the only way you know how to relax? Are you depending on coffee as its the only way you know how to stay alert in the day? Are you binge eating food because this is the only way you can switch off (meditate) from the distress you might be feeling. Once these toxic patterns are identified, this can truly power us forwards, to not just eliminating them but also bringing in new healthier ways to cope with life ups and downs.

The list can go on and on.... What have I missed ?

Creating these lists can really help you to get specific on what you need to change and then you can double down with your efforts to make those changes happen. Often, you will find, the beauty within your brainstorms appears, when one aspect of your detoxing list directly influences the others on your list.
