Self Growth is sometimes learning to let go.

When we want to shred down, we have to shed down. Just as trees embracing growth as they shed their dead leaves making room for the new. We can learn so much from from nature about change, not being afraid of breaking old brittle branches and losing the dead leaves, in order to nourish and grow.

Our self growth can become stagnant as we hold on too tightly to all the old and brittle parts of ourselves. Often these habits are practiced unconsciously. Then as time goes on, we can feel stuck,  not knowing why. Then we may struggle to find a way to propel through and achieve our new goals.

Many fitness, wellness & nutrition programs out there, focus only on the things that we need to add to our lives to create positive change. But if our lives are already very busy, this can be overwhelming and then we tend to give up before we’ve started firing up the engine properly. Surely,  it makes more sense to look at all the things we need to subtract too? All those things,  that no longer serve us when we embark on the mission to unleash our best self.

More often than not,  this task comes down to assessing where we are spending time and energy in our day and whether this is directly related to our goals. Or not?!

We all have days where we seem not to get anything done,  however it's useful to have a good think about,  is this you everyday? If you are habitually getting too easily distracted, procrastinating on the silly stuff, this will hinder your ability to super charge you,  to change.

Common time wasters are:

✅ Letting your socials consume you, rather than you using it to make improvements to your life,

✅Staying up way beyond your normal bed time bingeing Netflix shows, which then can disrupt your circadian rhythms putting a dead stop to your fat loss  /muscle build/shape improvements from your hard work in the gym and kitchen.

✅Scrolling the news too often for no particular purpose which can put you in a perpetual state of fear and negativity. We all know what happens to our body when subjected to chronic levels of cortisol.

✅ Are you letting life’s situations get you stressed out ? Can you learn to handle the stress better? Therefore saving your time on overthinking and putting it to good use AKA towards your goals?!

In essence, all this time and energy, could be used elsewhere to get you far closer where you want to be.

Being more mindful about your time bank assessing your habits, adapting where necessary,  will serve you dividends when it comes to prospering self growth.

Aim to make one or two switches every week,  to make your improvements more doable. Keep your routine of being focussed like this, make it your new normal.
