Gut Nourishing Apple Cinnamon Pancakes



It's so nice to be able to enjoy your favourite breakfast treats, yet know that you are nourishing your body at the same time.





Check out these delicious Apple Cinnamon Protein Pancakes which are compliant with my all new Ultimate Warrior Fit Program- they are packed with protein and even suitable for vegetarians and pescatarians. Yey!

Keep in mind that much of the time it's the quality of the ingredients that you choose which will really set this meal apart from other seemly 'healthy' recipes.


We are nourishing the gut and becoming healthy on the inside and out, so it's important to check the ingredients in your protein powders and your almond and coconut milks because often they have hidden nasties in there that are gut disruptive and therefore can pose a detriment to your results from your 3 week Warrior Fit Program

Ingredients

Apple Topping

1 medium apple peeled and diced

2 Tbsp water

1 tsp ground cinnamon


Pancakes

1 scoop (21-Day Fit.Fat loss. Firm compliant) vanilla protein powder

2 Tbsp. coconut flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp ground ginger

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

4 large egg whites

1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup (check it's zero soy) unsweetened almond milk


Garnish

Add your favourite gut nourishing fruits and enjoy!


Instructions

  1. Heat saucepan over medium heat and add diced apples, water, and cinnamon. Stir to combine then cook, covered, stirring occasionally for 5-6 minutes until apples are soft.

  2. Preheat electric griddle to medium-high and spray with nonstick cooking spray.

  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together protein powder, coconut flour, baking powder, ginger, and nutmeg.

  4. Add egg whites, applesauce, and almond milk and mix until just combined.

  5. Scoop by 1/4 cupful onto hot griddle and cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and bubbles begin to form on top. Flip and continue cooking until done; about another 2-3 minutes.

  6. Top with diced apples and serve immediately.
